The BIG training session plus junior disco party - May 2nd 2004 bank holiday Sunday
What a Fantastic day was had by all
300 Students and Instructors ( half the membership of Chojinkai ) turned out to join in this Special event. Seven groups of all ages and grades trained with myself and
our senior instructors for almost 2 hours and the day finished with
special student awards made to students nominated by their club instructor.
I would like to thank you all for helping to make the day a unique experience and a great day to remember.

Dinner dance & presentation evening

Swallow Hilltop hotel, Carlisle
The second event of the Anniversary Year was the Dinner Dance – 160 attended made up of Instructors, Students, Former Students and Guests.
The Chojinkai Chief Instructor & Founder 7th Dan Doug James presented Appreciation Awards to 38 Current Black Belt Instructors along with Commemorative Plaques to
10 former Instructors and Students.

An excellent Disco followed the Hot Buffet and the unforgettable evening concluded at 1.00am.

30th Annual Clubs Championships
Sunday 7th November 2004 - Carlisle Sands Centre
For the final anniversary event of the year approximately 200 Members and Instructors from the Chojinkai Karate Clubs competed at Carlisle Sands Centre in the final event
of their 30th Anniversary Celebration Year - The Annual Chojinkai Cup Karate Championships.
Chief Instructor Doug James 7th Dan organised the event with a record attendance with Senior Instructors from all the Clubs
adjudicating the events for age ranges from 6years to Adult.
Main Referees on the day were Paul Jackson, Ray Hind, Iain Abernethy, Steve Chaplow, Gordon Harrison, Darren Longstaff, Dave Johnson, Lee Wilson, Mark Holding, Colin Broatch, Ian Thwaites and Alan Connor.
Before the Presentation of Medals, Sensei Paul Jackson was presented with his
6th Dan by Sensei Doug James, this Award representing 25 years training with Chojinkai.
Other events highlighted to the Members were BKF Championship placing in the Masters Event for Mark Holding (Silver) and Annette Holding (Bronze).
Congratulations also to Sensei Gordon Harrison for achieving his EKGB Kumite Referee Qualification.
